Job summary

Do you have a surgical theatre background, have you experience of working in an outpatient areas or are you just seeking a change? The opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker to join our busy Dermatology Outpatient and Surgical Department (C04) at Chapel Allerton Hospital. We have one full time (37.5 hours) post available.

If you are highly motivated, with excellent communication skills, flexible, reliable, competent, able to work effectively within a team and under pressure, you may be the person we are seeking to assist us with development of our expanding dermatology services.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to work in the Dermatology Department, both in the outpatient area and C04 dermatology surgical unit.

The role on C04 will include assisting with surgical procedures, MOHS surgery and wounds, undertaking dressings and suture removal.

In Dermatology outpatients the role will include working in the general and specialist adult / paediatric clinics, patch testing, and skin cancer clinics. No two days are alike and our area is extremely busy and very interesting.

The opportunity is open to individuals who are ready to rise to a challenge with a keen and proven interest in dermatology, and wish to gain specialist knowledge and develop further skills.

Essential

  • NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, Diploma in Health Level 3, Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent experience.
  • The Care Certificate or in the absence of this the jobholder must successfully attain the Care Certificate within the first 3 months of employment.
  • Commitment to undergo training and education as required.

Desirable

  • Basic skills Maths and English Level 2 (equivalent of GCSE 4-9 (A*-C)).

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience of working within a healthcare setting delivering personal and clinical care.
  • Utilisation of planning and organisational skills
  • Utilisation of planning and organisational skills
  • Basic IT skills

Desirable

  • Experience of working within dermatology or a day case surgical environment.
