Job summary
Would you like to join and enthusiastic, dynamic friendly team working in a fast-paced acute environment? Are you a band 5 looking for a new challenge in the Urgent Care CSU? We are delighted to offer this exciting opportunity to become part of the Acute Medicine Nursing team.
J27 HOBS is a 4 bedded High Observation area that cares for high acuity medical patients. HOBS is a unit that bridges the gap between our acute wards and critical care. We care for patients with a variety of mixed medical problems who could be receiving high flow oxygen; intravenous insulin; electrolyte replacement; cardiac monitoring; arterial and central lines in addition to supporting the surrounding Acute Medical Units. Due to an expansion of our services, we are looking to recruit committed and enthusiastic nurses for an opportunity to enhance and develop their skills within a positive and challenging environment.
J27 & J28 Acute Assessment Units are fast-paced and challenging environments, caring for medical patients who have been acutely admitted to hospital under the age of 80. As such, we deal with a wide variety of medical presentations including Alcohol Withdrawal, Diabetic Ketoacidosis, Sepsis, and Seizures. In this area we assess, treat, and aim to either discharge home, or transfer on to the most appropriate place for the patient to be. We have a close working relationship with the A&E department and strive to achieve outstanding care on the ward.
Main duties of the job
