An
exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and hardworking individual to
join our teams as a Band 3 CSW in David Beevers Day Unit Ward and Surgical
Pre-assessment.
David
Beevers Day Unit Ward - The ward is a busy surgical unit that is open from Monday
to Saturday including night duties to care for overnight stay patients. The types of surgery carried out on the
unit include Urology, vascular, General surgery, Chronic pain, gynaecology
and patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.
The
Surgical Pre-assessment Service currently has an exciting opportunity for an
Advanced Clinical Support Worker who wishes to develop their career, in a
challenging and rewarding role. The Pre-assessment service operates at Leeds
Teaching Hospitals (LTHT) sites, St Jamess University Hospital Leeds General
Infirmary, and Wharfedale Hospital.
Main duties of the job
We
are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual to work alongside the
registered nurses to ensure that excellent care is provided. The role
involves preparing patients safely for theatre, recording patient
observations and pre and post operative tests such as ECG recording,
urinalysis, IPC swab collection and venepuncture. Post operative skills
include measuring patients observations, indwelling urinary catheter
removal, simple wound dressings, bladder scanning, blood sugar recording and
attending to patients hygiene and nutritional needs whilst providing a safe
environment to recover.
Applicants
will also be expected to ensure that stock levels are maintained and that
supplies are ordered promptly within budget.
