Are you an exceptional clinical pharmacist ready for a new challenge? Our pharmacy team needs capable and enthusiastic individuals with the right values to be a key part of our dynamic teams in the following areas: Hepatology (including liver transplant); Renal Medicine/Transplantation; Surgical specialties including Acute Surgery, Upper GI/Pancreas; Surgical Oncology, and Urology. The posts comprise a continuous, one year clinical rotational programme, designed to steer you through the Advanced Level Framework.

You will have clinical pharmacy experience and a diploma. If you are not already a prescriber, we would support you to gain this qualification.

Post holders will provide medicines optimisation services to patients whilst integrating into the multidisciplinary team day-to-day. As part of our support to Abdominal Medicine & Surgery CSU we also provide clinical pharmacy services to Gastroenterology and Colorectal Surgery. We also offer experience in anticoagulation clinics, including warfarin bridging, and Aseptic dispensing in our busy Aseptic & Production Unit.

You will receive support to develop from our advanced clinical pharmacists, and appropriate training. You will offer ideas and collaborate to improve patient care and experience, and will be a key part of the implementation of service developments.

Main duties of the job

The way in which our team works supports close working with specialty teams and ward round attendance to make a difference to patient care through MDT working.

Pharmacy Services at LTHT is nationally recognised as an exemplar service. The CSU responsibilities span the provision and use of medicines across all patient pathways.

You will receive support to develop from our advanced clinical pharmacists, and appropriate training. You will offer ideas and collaborate to improve patient care and experience, and will be a key part of the implementation of service developments.

Your role will include supervising rotational junior pharmacists and supporting pharmacy technicians in their emerging clinical roles.
