An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified clinical pharmacist to join our dynamic team working in our busy Medicines Advice Service at Leeds.
As a specialist clinical pharmacist in Medicines Advice, you will be responsible for the provision of evidence-based advice to healthcare professionals and patients, to help patients get the most from their medicines. In addition, you will provide training and mentoring for staff from pharmacy and beyond, to aid them in developing their critical appraisal, communication and Medicines Advice skills. To ensure your clinical skills remain up to date, you will be expected to maintain a ward-based pharmacy commitment, and you will have the opportunity to work with the wider Leeds Medicines Advisory Service team of medicines safety, commissioning, formulary, Drug and Therapeutics and primary care interface.

Applying your clinical pharmacy knowledge and experience to help patients get the most from their medicines
Providing training for others to support them develop core Medicines Advice skills

Providing a clinical pharmacy service to our inpatient wards

We are a busy Medicines Advice service based in Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, handling approximately 4,500 queries a year from a variety of sources. We provide a significant amount of training for pharmacy staff in answering questions about medicines, and use our expertise in evidence-based decision making about medicines to support the wider pharmacy team and the Trust. We also contribute to the national UK Medicines Information network (UKMi), and actively participate in our regional Yorkshire and Humber Medicines Information group.
