Locum Consultant in Allergy & Immunology
The post is a fixed term contract for period of 6 months for 6PAs.
We are seeking a dynamic Locum Consultant to join the Leeds Allergy & Immunology Specialist services at St James University Hospital. The appointee will become a key member of a dedicated and highly experienced multi-disciplinary team. The job is part time fixed term locum compromising of 6 programmed activities fixed term locum post , with supervision of the junior doctors and specialist nurses. There will be an on-call commitment of 1:4. Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust makes up one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe housing over 2,000 beds and providing a range of general, acute and elective services, together with a significant number of regional and supra-regional specialties. The department has recently gained QPIDS accreditation. We are committed to providing high quality specialist care to patients suffering from allergic, immunodeficiency and autoinflammatory disorders. Great emphasis has been placed on delivering a friendly, consultant led, patient centric service. Our multidisciplinary teams are a key part of our success and include anaesthetics, clinical nurse specialists, pharmacists, physician associate and researchers. There is a dedicated outpatient and Day- Case facility.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant should possess Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (or equivalent) and should be included on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview, if currently within a training programme within the UK. In accordance with the consultant appointment regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register. Applicants should have established skills in Allergy & Immunology & diagnostic laboratory.
