We
are inviting applications to fill our MSK Radiology clinical fellowship (STR
Level) vacancies at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in Department of
Clinical Radiology
3
post are available and will commence in August 2025 and end in August 2026.
These are fixed term contracts for one year.
Main duties of the job
The
successful applicants will provide a high-quality musculoskeletal radiology
service, working closely with the consultant radiologists in this
speciality. They will develop a
specialist interest in aspects of musculoskeletal radiology. They will be
expected to participate in the Radiology SpR teaching programme. In addition,
they will participate in departmental clinical research and audit.
In
addition, they will be expected to undertake a evening general acute CT list
(5-9pm) (alternate week) and this will be incorporated into the fellowship
timetable. They will assist in the training of junior medical staff
(radiological and other clinicians).
About us
There
are departments of clinical radiology at each of the 6 sites that make up Leeds
Teaching Hospitals.
In
2019 the Trusts radiology departments recorded 527,184 attendances and 733,188
examinations. A comprehensive range of
diagnostic and interventional procedures are provided to the population of
Leeds. In addition, significant numbers
of referrals from the areas of the region and beyond are received for
specialist procedures.
Musculoskeletal
radiology services are based at Leeds General Infirmary (acute orthopaedics,
trauma, spinal and plastic surgery) and at Chapel Allerton Hospital (elective
orthopaedic surgery and rheumatology). The team provides imaging services
across the field of diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal radiology,
including the MSK ultrasound, MRI, arthrography and a wide range of
interventional procedures.

Qualifications
Essential
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- FRCR (Parts 1 and 2) or equivalent evidence of radiology training with at least 4.5 years in a UK recognised Radiology Training Scheme.
- The candidate should have or be within 6 months of obtaining their CCT in Clinical Radiology.
Desirable
- MRCP, MRCS, or other postgraduate degree
Eligibility, Fitness to practice, and Language Skills
Essential
- Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practise from, the GMC at intended start date.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent (as required to complete Foundation competences) by intended start date.
- Is up to date and fit to practise safely and is aware of own training needs.
- All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written & spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients & colleagues demonstrated by one of the followiing
- Applicants have undertaken undergraduate medical training in English or:
- Achieved the minimum score of 7 across all 4 of the following categories in the academic International English Language Testing System
