Locum Allergy Consultant Dermatologist
We are looking for an individual to fill this locum post within the Dermatology Department at Chapel Allerton.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team within the Leeds Centre of Dermatology, which offers a successful candidate to join a dynamic and innovative Allergy and Cutaneous Dermatology team. The post-holder will help to support the general dermatology service and skin cancer service, specifically:
Contributing to and enhancing the provision of the allergy dermatology service
Enhancing the current provision of rapid access diagnostic skin cancer clinics and enhancing the current provision of skin cancer surgery
Contributing to the current provision for general dermatology services
The successful applicant should possess MRCP (or equivalent) and should be included on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview, if currently within a training programme within the UK. In accordance with the consultant appointment regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register.
Main duties of the job
This post, within the Leeds Centre for Dermatology, principally based at Chapel Allerton Hospital, offers the successful candidate the opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative Dermatology team with the opportunity to develop a stimulating combination of clinical, teaching and research work.
The Leeds Centre for Dermatology is a tertiary referral centre and a centre of excellence for cutaneous allergy. The Cutaneous Allergy service is currently run by two Consultants and one registrar on rotation as well as a substantial nursing team and sees over a 1000 new patients a year. There are also plans to establish a post CCT fellowship post in cutaneous allergy, which will comply with the British Society for Cutaneous Allergy post-CCT curriculum and the requirements of the Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board for Advanced Training in Cutaneous Allergy.
