Job summary
We
are inviting applicants to join our busy but welcoming Congenital Cardiology
team as a Senior Clinical Fellow for a period of 12 months based at Leeds
General Infirmary in West Yorkshire.
We
are looking for candidates who wish to develop their congenital cardiology
clinical skills in the subspecialty of fetal echocardiography. The successful
applicant will join the paediatric cardiology registrar rota.
This
post does not carry a National Training Number (NTN) in Paediatric Cardiology,
but is only open to applicants currently holding a NTN.
Main duties of the job
There
will be the opportunity for the applicant to maintain their General
Paediatric Cardiology skills (as per the curriculum), with other clinical
exposure in the post dedicated towards this, including outpatient clinics,
performing audits and teaching junior trainees.
Successful
candidates will participate in a rolling rota of week-long ward cover. During
the other weeks they will also have exposure to other activities within the
department. The role will be fully compliant with the current curriculum for
ST7-8 training and will be tailored to the trainee so that required
competencies can be achieved.
The
successful candidate will work alongside the Fetal Cardiology team
(Consultants, Sonographers, Cardiac nurse specialists) in daily Fetal Cardiology
clinics. There will be close liaison with Fetal Medicine and regular
attendance of Fetal Medicine/Neonates/Genetics MDT.
