Job summary
We are inviting applications for a Trust Grade
Doctor Post as a fixed term contract for 12 months. This posts is suitable for
Doctors who have completed their Foundation Programme Training, working at
Internal Medicine Training (IMT) level at The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS
Trust in the Departments of Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Medicine.
Main duties of the job
This
is an exciting opportunity to gain experience of rheumatology and complex
neurological rehabilitation in a friendly and supportive environment. The posts
will be based at Chapel Allerton Hospital, part of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS
Trust.
The
departments of Rheumatology and Rehabilitation Medicine provide secondary and
tertiary level care for patients with a wide range or rheumatological
conditions and complex neurological disabilities throughout the Leeds and West
Yorkshire area. Both departments enjoy an international reputation as centers
of excellence for clinical work and research.The post will provide a broad
experience in caring for patients with complex long-term conditions, and would
particularly suit those aspiring to careers in rehabilitation medicine,
rheumatology, stroke, geriatrics, palliative care, or general practice.
The
post will comprise two six-month placements based in rehabilitation medicine
and in rheumatology. The appointed Trust Grade Doctor will follow a weekly
timetable comprising ward work and attendance at outpatient clinics. The post
holder will provide care for inpatients admitted under the rehabilitation
medicine and rheumatology teams.
There
will in addition be an expectation that the appointed doctors will regularly
attend outpatient clinics. These can be tailored to the educational objectives
of the post-holder.
