Education Post: Blackboard Coordinator
This
post is one year fixed term, commencing 1st Sept 23. This post is based at the
Leeds Childrens Hospital. The applicant needs to discuss their application
with their local TPD to facilitate rotation planning for the duration of the
post.
This
is an in-programme education post that counts towards your training, ideal for
those wanting to develop an interest in medical education. There are
opportunities to develop new methods of on-line learning, gain experience in
teaching. There will be an opportunity to apply for a funded PGCert in Medical
Education but a place is not guaranteed.
SPRInT
(Specialised Paediatric Regional Innovative Training) has been developed to
replace the previous tier 2 paediatric education course (PGDip) and provide
training for Yorkshire and Humber paediatric trainees at ST5-ST6. The course
will cover all aspects of the Progress Plus curriculum.
Main duties of the job
Duties
of Post:
- Maintenance and optimisation of
educational material on Blackboard (alongside faculty)
- Creation of online
tutorials/evaluation of learning mirroring progress Plus competencies covered
in taught course (with support from faculty)
- Evaluation and appraisal of tutorials
for quality assurance
- Further development of online
learning environment and ad-hoc faculty support to incorporate virtual teaching
methods and resources into training.
- Supporting the live on-line teaching
as session co-moderator
- Involvement in development,
advertising, and administration of SPRInT
- On calls in one of the paediatric
registrar rotas at Leeds Childrens Hospital (if LTFT this will be
proportionally reduced in line with LTFT hours)

- Paediatric Speciality trainee doctor ST4 level or above at the time of commencement of post
- Must have completed RCPCH membership exams at the time of application.
