Job summary
This
is a 10PA locum appointment for a Consultant in Clinical Immunology, This post
will be for a period of initially 6 months with opportunity to extend for a
further 6 months.
This
post will deliver 10PAs supporting the Immunology and Allergy team (Dr Sinisa
Savic, Lead Clinician for Clinical Immunology and Allergy, Dr Gururaj
Arumugakani and Dr Anoop Mistry Consultant Immunologists. The post-holder will
provide 1:4 on-call.
Applicants
should have established skills in Clinical Immunology. Excellent communication and team working
skills, a strong commitment to teaching and service development are essential.

Main duties of the job
The
successful applicant should hold accreditation in MRCP and FRCPath (immunology)
or equivalent qualification in the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent,
and should be on the Specialist Register or within six months of being admitted
to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the
UK, or have references which have been authorised by the Deputy Medical
Director and Clinical Director.

Leeds Department of Immunology & Allergy is based at St Jamess University
Hospital. The department has a worldwide reputation for its clinical and
academic achievements and our aim is to provide a first class service. The

The
appointee will be expected to contribute and, where appropriate, take the lead
in the following:
Mortality and morbidity meetings;
Clinical audit programmes;
Development and application of agreed
clinical guidelines.
This
is to be included in allocated time in the individuals job plan as a
supporting programmed activity. It would
be expected that the time allocated for this would include attendance at the
relevant departmental audit meeting(s) and that such attendance would be
recorded (in accordance with the Trusts clinical audit policy).
In the discharge of these responsibilities the candidate
will be expected to maintain and update his/her skills and knowledge through
appropriate continuing medical education.
