During
the running of the two days of teaching and assessment the post holder must
have the ability to lead the faculty through the delivery of the course which
has a complex schedule with multiple training and assessment stations.
There
is in addition a considerable responsibility for arranging the practical
aspects of the course including the setting up of skill stations and handling
of equipment. Because of the length of each day it is generally desirable for
the course co-ordinator to be residential along with the faculty and
candidates at the conference venue. However, this is open to discussion if
individual circumstances make that difficult.
There will be a need to work flexibly as some training days may extend
to 12 hours.
About us
The
successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the lead Course
Director, Dr Rosalind Roden and the current ATLS course co-ordinator who will
provide training and orientation during the initial months.
While
the principal duties of this post centre on the delivery of the Leeds ATLS
Programme the post holder will hold some additional responsibilities within
the Medical Education Team based in the Clinical Practice Centre at St
Jamess University Hospital Leeds.
