Job summary
This
is an exciting opportunity for an experienced library and knowledge
specialist to join our well-respected, friendly and supportive team
delivering high quality services, across multiple sites, to over 20,000 staff
within the Trust.
The
Trust has a new Learning Education and Training strategy which aims to
deliver world-class education and training.
You will contribute to achieving this aim through delivering
exceptional knowledge and library services in support of education and other
business critical functions within the Trust.
Main duties of the job
You
will share responsibility for the operational management and development of
library and knowledge services delivered to Trust staff both virtually and
physically from library service points across the organisation. You will
manage the library site premises, resources and equipment, and have line
management responsibility for the library assistants.
The
post has a responsibility for the joint delivery of NHS-HE library service at
St. Jamess University Hospital, providing NHS professional input to overall
service development.
Your
role will include the delivery of resource discovery training, information
skills training, evidence searching, stock selection and subscription
management, together with staff engagement to publicise and promote library
services.We have ambitions to expand our Knowledge Mobilisation offer within
the Trust and you will be able to help shape and deliver this offer.
This
is a front-line, user-facing post within the Library and Knowledge Service.
Our team works in a hybrid manner in line with the needs of the service. Working patterns will combine an on-site
presence with opportunities to work remotely. The Site Librarian will also
deputise for the Library and Knowledge Service Manager where necessary.
About us
The
postholder will join a strong team of five professional library and knowledge
specialists supported by two paraprofessionals. We are part of the Medical Education
Department and work in collaboration across the city through the Leeds
Libraries for Health partnership.
