Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Business Analyst within the Informatics Department at Leeds Teaching Hospital Trust. This is an opportunity for a highly motivated and professional individual to join the Project and Programme delivery Team and work collaboratively with all stakeholders to deliver digital projects and programmes.

This post will support delivery of our ambitious Digital Strategy and develop a business analysis strategy for use within our project and programme delivery function. You will be an experienced BA who will work with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders as well as teams within the Informatics department to support the delivery of digital projects and programmes. The postholder will be experienced in utilising appropriate tools and business analysis methodologies whilst aligning to the departments project delivery lifecycle methodology

Main duties of the job

As a senior Business Analyst you will develop and deliver a business analysis strategy within the project and programme delivery function. You will then lead a team to implement it across our portfolio.

You will need to work effectively across a wide range of stakeholders including senior clinicians, partner organisations and software supplier organisations working across both agile and waterfall methodologies.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working within complex IT programmes across multiple work streams and organisations. You will have worked closely with project managers and teams and have a strong focus on using business analysis to support delivery. You will also have worked closely with software development and operations teams.

The successful applicant will have excellent leadership, communication and inter-personal skills, critical thinking and reasoning skills, excellent attention to detail, proactivity, and enthusiasm.

The NHS and the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust are investing significantly in IT and information systems. This is in line with Government and key Trust business objectives e.g. Informatics Programme, Managing for Success. The role will support the Informatics Programme by developing and producing comprehensive business and requirements analysis, reporting to the BA Team Leader.

The role will take responsibility for developing, producing and specifying functional and business requirements of various aspects of the Trust Informatics Programme to ensure that commissioned business solutions and systems meet the needs of the Trust and wider stakeholders. The work of this team will impact on the Trust and external Health and Social Care organisations in the locality. As the Senior Business Analyst, the post holder will be required to lead on the more complex business system analyses at Departmental and Trustwide level e.g. in support of reconfiguration of Outpatients across the Trust or Referral Services between the Trust and partner external organisations.

The Senior Business Analyst will provide mentorship, training and guidance to other members of the team and monitor the budget for the team as required.
