Job summary

You will be responsible for supervising a small team of Resourcing Officers and Resourcing Assistants and you will be the lead for the recruitment and employment of staff across the Trust. You will support your team in ensuring all candidates are cleared to work in the Trust in line with NHS Employers standards and you will provide advice regarding the mandatory pre-employment checks, Right to Work, terms and conditions of service, starting salaries and other complex queries.

Liaison with external agencies and internal customers is a key part of the role, to deliver a high quality, customer focussed service to the organisation.

Knowledge of NHS Terms and Conditions of Service is essential, as well as an understanding of good practice and legal requirements relating to recruitment. You will also need to have an extensive working knowledge of current UKVI skilled worker process and policies.

Main duties of the job

Provide advice and guidance to line managers, including advice and support in relation to the use of NHS Jobs, NHS terms and conditions of employment and starting salaries for staff

Compile data and produces reports as required. This will involve taking the initiative for research and analysis, as well as general formatting and presentation and could involve appropriate calculations from a variety of computerised and manual sources

To objectively deal with difficult situations including queries from staff on terms and conditions of employment and Trust Policy interpretation and with candidates and staff around the recruitment and selection process and have the ability to tackle and resolve difficult issues with tact and sensitivity.

To arrange, plan and prioritise own work and, as necessary, that of the team, ensuring an equal division of work, delegating work as appropriate.

Ensure operational policies and procedures are adopted by the team.

Resolving queries raised by the ROs and RAs, escalating to the Senior Team Leader as necessary.

Provide advice and guidance to line managers, including advice and support in relation to the use of NHS Jobs, NHS terms and conditions of employment and starting salaries.

Support the recruitment process of substantive Consultants.

To maintain and co-ordinate the timely renewal of current staff Right to Work, and support the service in the delivery of Certificates of Sponsorships.
