Job summary

Youll be supported along the way by our People Promise Manager, and colleagues across the wider Organisational Development and Culture team, part of Human Resources. Youll have the flexibility to work remotely as well as on site, with some flexibility in when you work, flexing based on the needs of the role or task at hand.

To excel as the Staff Engagement and Retention Lead in this role, you will possess the following skills and experience:

Ability to motivate team members and coordinate resources and stakeholders in order to achieve project outcomes

Main duties of the job

Key parts of your role as Staff Engagement Manager are:

- Working with and guiding teams, specialties and senior leaders who want to achieve a positive shift in the engagement of their people, to positively impact staff retention.

- Ensuring all our people have a voice that is heard through the successful delivery of our annual and quarterly staff surveys

- Communicating and advocating Trust-wide participation and use of our organisations Staff Survey and Pulse Survey

- Supporting and motivating members of the team to administer our Staff and Pulse surveys

- Working in partnership with our external survey providers to ensure successful partnerships and delivery

- Support the procurement and expenditure oversight of our external survey providers

- Ensure celebration and recognition of our long serving employees, working in partnership with our Communications team, to lead the delivery and continue to improve our Long Service Awards

- Supporting the delivery of our Trusts Staff Engagement Group, playing a pivotal part in driving forward improvement in engagement and retention across organisational divisions

- Analyse, diagnose and contribute to the delivery of organisational improvement activities and projects, in line with our organisations priority objectives and cultural ambition.

- Play a key role in driving forward a variety of Trust-wide improvement projects

Provide an internal HR & OD consultancy service to a range of Corporate and Clinical Service units within the Trust to support and promote consistent and effective people management and engagement thereby enabling the delivery of Trust objectives.

The post holder works when required, as an independent practitioner within broad policy guidelines and employment law, providing a HR & OD consultancy service to line managers within the Trust. Required to interpret policy and employment legislation in order to provide specialist advice and guidance, occasionally developing precedent for future best practice to meet the diverse range of situations presented. The post holders caseload will be a number of CSUs and similar management units, representing up to 3000 staff across a variety of occupational groups.
