LTHT
Capital Accounting Team is offering a 6 months fixed term contract for an
experienced Capital Accountant at agenda for change band 7.
The ideal candidate would be a qualified accountant
with relevant fixed asset register experience (part-qualified also considered
but with significant experience), and be local to the Leeds area (St James
Hospitals, Trust HQ, Leeds), flexible working also available.

Main duties of the job
The task consists in helping with the Fixed
Asset Register (CARS) in terms of data cleansing exercise, asset verification,
disposal of assets, reconciliations to the General Ledger and any other ad-hoc
task relevant to the role. Understanding technical aspects of accounting is
necessary, along with the ability to communicate clearly in addition to having
experience of dealing with complex transactions where professional judgement is
also required.

The post holder will work closely
with capital programme managers, Capital Planning Group, external Audit and
operational and clinical managers within business units.
Within the Finance Directorate,
they will work closely with other members of the finance team, and also staff
in other finance disciplines (e.g. internal audit, payments, and
supplies.)
Outside the Trust, communication
will also be required with bodies such as the University, Special Trustees,
and other NHS organisations.
Excellent communication skills both
verbally and in writing to convey complex financial processes and practices
and so allow managers to better understand their responsibilities
