The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for flexible and reliable individuals to work as Facilities Technicians (Patient Environment) at Leeds General Infirmary, St James's Hospital, Chapel Allerton, Seacroft Hospital and Wharfdale Hospital.

We currently have permanent vacancies, for Facilities Technicians to work as Ward Housekeepers on Wards, department areas or public spaces. Various posts are available for Monday to Friday:

- POST TYPE ONE: 07:30 - 14:00pm

- POST TYPE TWO: 12:30 pm -19:00 pm

- POST TYPE THREE: 16:30pm - 19:30pm

- POST TYPE FOUR: 16:00pm - 00:00pm

- POST TYPE FIVE: 17:00pm - 22:00pm

We currently have limited weekend posts available for RADU unit and Peripheral hospital sites ONLY (None at SJUH or LGI)

Successful applicants will be invited to an interview assessment centre held on 25th October held at either SJUH or LGI, each assessment centre will be recruiting for positions available at BOTH sites regardless of the interview location

A full enhanced DBS check will be required for all roles

Main duties of the job

The roles will provide cleaning within either wards, departments or public areas, dependant on which role the successful candidates are appointed into. Within ward areas the role is also required to complete full catering services to Patients.

- Ensuring the environment is cleaned to the highest standards.

- Catering duties involve a caring, Patient centred approach to meal & beverage services.

- There will be an expectation to complete ad-hoc duties when required.

The post holder is member of the facilities operational team and will be responsible for carrying out any duties commensurate with the grade of post. The role includes provision of catering, cleaning, portering, receptions, logistics and traffic management across any of the Trust sites. The role requires flexibility in approach to the duties required as these may alter throughout the course of a work day/week, however the post holder will have one primary role that they will orientate towards on a daily basis. High standards of quality will be expected to be delivered in line with Facilities/LTHT practices and policies.

The post holder will be expected to have basic knowledge of a number of administrative and operational functions and utilise both facilities and LTHT IT systems in order to complete their job role. The nature of the role requires the use of responding to some tasks via a defined communication system.

Adhering to standards and practices in Trust Policy and Facilities practices/procedural manuals alongside national initiatives, to ensure that a safe and clean environment is provided for patients.

To be a point of contact for patients and other visitors to the Trust and provide a warm friendly welcome offering directions, support and assistance.

Team members will be expected to operate as part of the Facilities team covering any Trust managed service.
