The Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust Estates Department are looking for an Electrical Estates Technician who will be based at Seacroft and Chapel Allerton Hospitals.

Main duties of the job

As an Estates Technician, youll have a mechanical or electrical background and will carry out your work with minimal supervision. This will include, maintenance, fault finding, repairs and installation work on all facilities, plant and equipment onsite, and you will also act as the Trust representative in the absence of the Estates Officer or when requested to do so as and when the need arises by line management.

Working on the full range of Estates Services equipment, you will undertake activities which require analysis of data to resolve technical issues on multifaceted equipment or situations, many of which have a direct impact on patient safety and the built environment.

Youll be responsible for calibration and fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment including various voltage systems, steam raising plant and associated equipment, steam sterilizers, medical gas systems, nurse call systems, lighting, fire detection, building services controls, standby generator plant, heating and ventilation control systems and refrigeration plant.

Undertake condition surveys, evaluating inspection reports and maintenance repairs, improvement and capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.

Plan and organise major interruptions, maintenance activities and co-ordinates work of others. Provides practical training to others and evaluates work.
