Install, maintain, service and repair the full range of Estates Services equipment. Performs work including activities which require comparison of a range of options, complex facts requiring analysis to resolve technical issues in complex and multifaceted equipment / situations. Responsible for calibration and fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment including various voltage systems, steam raising plant and associated equipment, steam sterilizers, medical gas systems, nurse call systems, lighting, fire detection, building services controls, standby generator plant, heating and ventilation control systems and refrigeration plant.

Undertake condition surveys, evaluating inspection reports and maintenance repairs, improvement and capital work across the Trust as directed by management, ensuring compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.

Plan and organise major interruptions, maintenance activities and co-ordinates work of others. Provides practical training to others and evaluates work.

Deputise for Estates Officer on the full range of management duties as well as providing technical advice to other Estates staff and contractors.

Provide an emergency out of hours service, working a rotating shift pattern covering 365 days a year subject to appropriate negotiations

Experience

  • Previous experience working on breakdowns and PPM on electrical plant found in a hospital environment.
  • Previous experience working on new installations, control systems, plant and equipment breakdowns, fault finding, rectifications and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of technical
  • Knowledge of various Health and Safety legislation as applicable to core trade, ensuring the well being of staff, patients and visitors.

  • Working in a acute Hospital Environment, HTM 06, Nurse call systems, BMS -Systems
