Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for the high-quality collection, analysis and management of information and information processes within the R&I Department. Working closely with relevant departments in the University of Leeds, the R&I database provider, EDGE, the Yorkshire & Humber Clinical Research Network, the National Institute for Health Research Information Service and the Trusts Informatics Services to develop common information systems, the post holder will be responsible for:
- Implementing new digital solutions to help make research delivery more efficient, working with the R&I Manager (Real World Data and Research Informatics). This will involve input to current and new digital change projects in support of the Research and Innovation department informatics strategy
- Provide support to planned developments in the Trusts Electronic Patient Record (EPR) supporting research delivery in the organisation and compatibility with the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) guidance.
- Collation of information about studies in LTHT, interning and reporting on an accurate picture of research activity within LTHT
This post requires excellent IT skills,highly developed knowledge and skills in working within the Microsoft Stack including SQL Server suite and Power BI, and good organisational,analytical and communication skills.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties:
-Implement current and new digital change projects in support of the Research and Innovation department informatics strategy.
-Develop and maintain the R&I digital study set up application (working with researchers and support departments) and associated systems for measuring study set up timelines using business intelligence software.
-Provide regular research activity data to the CSU management team, to allow for research performance to be monitored, using a variety of approaches including live dashboards linked to our research database and/or monthly distributed reports to key R&I Staff.
- Interpret national policy and regulations with regard to R&I information and ensure the department has adequate information systems and processes to deliver these requirements.
-Submission of data required for the National Institute for Health Research Performance in Initiation and Delivery of research (PID) reports.
- Assist in the development of new bespoke solutions for Information collection and reporting. This involves taking responsibility for decisions on the configuration and development of databases and applications and includes the design and direct testing of new systems e.g. making decisions on the architecture, security and certifications and ensuring that all systems delivered comply with Trust and national data standards, data protection and any other current legislation.
