Job summary
Due to expanding services, Leeds has an exciting opportunity to recruit a Specialist Cardiac Physiologist Non-invasive to join our friendly Healthcare Scientist team.
We are seeking applicants from those who enjoy working with others, who are motivated to learn new skills and provide the best care to our patients.
The role of a Specialist Cardiac Physiologist is exciting and varied. This role should appeal to those wanting to enjoy the offerings of a renowned NSHCS accredited tertiary cardiac centre. Ideal applicants should be competent in all areas of non invasive cardiology including but not limited to cardiopulomnary exercise testing, ambulatory analysis and tilt table testing. Applicants who have existing skills in other areas of Cardiology will be considered and a rotational role may be agreed for the successful applicant. Applications are also welcomed from those looking to develop their skills and career. Under the Annex 21 scheme the successful applicant will undertake a full 12 months supervised in house training programme and paid at 75% of band 6 role until successful completion.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicants will perform and take a lead in all areas of non-invasive cardiology including exercise tolerance testing, cardio-pulmonary exercise testing, ambulatory analysis as well as tilt table testing. Ideal applicants will have existing competency in these areas with state registration. Training can be provided for applicants seeking a developmental role (annex 21 band 6).
Leeds champions development, research and innovation. The non-invasive team utilise the most update equipment and technology from Vyaire Medical, Philips, spacelabs and GE. There will be a requirement to work at both St James Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary. The department supports MDT attendance,CPD, team meetings as well as multiple external conferences and courses.
The successful applicants will join the non-invasive team on a rotational basis and there is opportunity to maintain or continue developing skills in other areas of cardiology, for example echocardiography.
Successful applicants will work as part of a team to contribute to high quality and efficient services. We promote autonomous practice but support is always available from highly specialist physiologists, clinical scientists and our consultant colleagues. The department has a monthly governance and audit meeting where training is provided to keep up to date with any new services, standard operating procedures and audit programmes.
