Job summary
Due to expanding services, Leeds has an exciting opportunity to recruit a number of qualified Cardiac Physiologists to join our friendly Healthcare Scientist team.

The role of a Cardiac Physiologist is exciting and varied. This role should appeal to those wanting to enjoy the offerings of a renowned and leading tertiary cardiac centre. Although a large department, Leeds is committed to supporting individual development and we offer a vast amount of CPD opportunities to allow you to develop and reach your goals.
Applicants should have completed, or soon to complete an appropriate healthcare science training programme, PTP or apprenticeship and registered with the AHCS/HCPC or able to gain registration within the first six months.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicants will work closely with specialist and highly specialist colleagues and rotate through invasive and non-invasive cardiology,
performing analysis of ambulatory ECG/ILR monitoring and leading exercise tolerance tests, escalating any significant clinical findings to the attention of the senior team as per department protocols. As the regional centre, Leeds has 6 newly refurbished cardiac catheter labs and a paediatric hybrid lab. Successful applicants will assist in angiography and angioplasty procedures and offered rotation through the wider invasive/non-invasive areas to maintain or learn new skills. As a qualified cardiac physiologist, you will work closely with students, trainees and junior members and contribute to their continued education.
Successful applicants will work as part of a team to contribute to high quality and efficient services. We promote autonomous practice but support is always available from specialist and consultant colleagues. The department has a monthly governance and audit meeting where interesting cases are discussed and training is provided to keep up to date with any new equipment and technology.
