Job summary

The CSU is expanding to develop a respiratory medically optimised for discharge ward and we are looking for a ward manager who through the Leeds values and behaviours will inspire and lead the delivery of quality services with compassion making a difference to patients lives providing high quality care.
Experience caring for patients with respiratory disorders is desirable but not essential. The successful applicant will be mentored by an existing ward manager in the CSU and line managed by the Matron. Skills that you will further develop during the secondment will include, people management, patient pathway development delivery of the quality and governance agenda for the clinical area. Investigation training and the practical application of the Leeds Improvement method.

Main duties of the job
The Cardio-respiratory CSU purpose is to deliver excellent quality care for our patients by our exceptional staff and in doing so is renowned for investing in and developing our teams. You will be supported by your Matron and Head of Nursing to develop and grow within your role in order to reach your full potential. You will lead a motivated team who are dedicated to providing the very best care for respiratory patients.
The Jobholder will carry 24 hour continuing responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the ward/department. Providing professional, clinical and managerial leadership, and supervision for the nursing team. The jobholder is responsible for developing and maintaining a ward or department philosophy that has the patient at the centre of compassionate safe and quality care delivery.
