Job summary
Are you a motivated Cardiac Physiologist/Scientist looking to expand your skillset and work at one of the largest centres in the country?
Leeds Teaching Hospitals is recruiting a number of Specialist Cardiac Physiologists/ Scientists to support expanding services in echocardiography, CRM and EP. Leeds holds full departmental accreditation with the British Society of Echocardiography and the NSHCS to deliver ETP, STP and HSST programmes.
As the supra-regional centre, we have the largest echo service with 15 high spec Philips/GE scanning rooms across 5 hospital sites and many Scientist-led services; stress echo, valve and ICC clinics. Leeds has 7 high spec cathlabs and in addition to routine angiography/PCI, we provide 24/7 primary PCI, transcatheter valve intervention, PPM/CRT/ICD/leadless implants and lead extractions, paediatric intervention, EP/ablation & Scientist-led ILRs. The department also has a large adult/paed devices follow-up service, including a Scientist-led HF clinic.
Main duties of the job
Successful applicants will join a large, experienced and friendly team and undertake a broad range of cardiac investigations, providing accurate and factual reports relevant to their specialist skillset (echo, cardiac devices or EP). We encourage autonomous practice but support is available from senior colleagues.
Applicants will have the opportunity to rotate through the wider invasive and non-invasive areas to maintain/learn skills and those with relevant specialist skills will join the out of hours on call service.
As a large teaching hospital we expect applicants to support and deliver training to junior collagues, including student learners. We actively support formal educational programmes, participation at Healthcare Scientist events and professional conferences, and contribution to the established departmental audit and clinical governance programme to maintain professional CPD is expected.
