If you enjoy working in a team and have the drive and passion to help our patients, come and join our team, we have exciting opportunities for highly motivated, flexible, and hardworking individuals to join our Multi-Disciplinary Teams (MDTs) Cancer Administration Teams. You will provide comprehensive clerical support and will work closely with healthcare professionals. You will be required to prioritise your workload and meet deadlines. It is essential that you are highly organised and able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
As part of the Corporate Cancer Team, we support and help our cancer teams to deliver quality and timely, patient focused cancer care. We are committed to working in line with the values described in The Leeds Way to make work rewarding as well as challenging.
MDTs discuss and plan care for all patients with a diagnosis of cancer or a suspected cancer. The post-holder will be expected to help prepare, organise, and support MDT meetings to ensure patient pathways are progressed.
Main duties of the job
The role includes preparing, producing, and distributing lists of patients for discussion at the MDT meeting and capturing accurate data during the MDT, live typing to the patients medical record, and using medical terminology,
You will play an important part in tracking the patient journey from the point of GP referral to treatment and be responsible for ensuring that required datasets are collated, and accurately entered, to comply with local and national expectations and standards in terms of the Cancer Outcomes & Services Dataset, Cancer Waiting Times, Chemotherapy and National Audit data. (this list is not exhaustive).
The post-holder must be able to demonstrate excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills; work well under pressure and on their own initiative. We require an individual with administrative experience, competent IT skills and strong attention to detail.
