Job summary
We
are looking for an individual to fill this new post within the Neurology and Stroke
Department at the Leeds General Infirmary.
This post is to support
developments in line with the National Stroke Plan and the delivery and
expansion of stroke services including the regional mechanical thrombectomy
pathway at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI). The post holder will manage
Hyperacute, and Acute stroke unit patients at the LGI and contribute to the
transient ischaemic attack service.
Main duties of the job
This post holder is expected to do two neurology clinics
per week and participate in the acute neurology on-call rota.
The
successful applicant should possess MRCP UK (or equivalent) and should be
included on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of CCT at the time of
interview if currently within a UK training programme. In accordance with the consultant appointment
regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist
Register.
Applicants should have
established skills in all aspects of the stroke pathway from hyperacute services
including capabilities in delivering cerebral reperfusion strategies. A strong
commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and a research interest is
desirable.
Consideration will be given to applicants
who wish to work full or part time and those wishing to job share.
