We
have an exciting opportunity to work within our Childrens Tracheostomy
Specialist nursing service. Working closely with families, consultants, local
and regional services, and community partners to provide high quality patient
care. Come and join our specialist
nurse team if you are self-motivated with a high level of inter-personal and
multi-tasking skills.
You
will work alongside the team leader to provide training, support and advice
to children with tracheostomies and their families. You will also provide education and
support to healthcare teams for the Childrens hospital and throughout the
Yorkshire region.

Main duties of the job
The
role involves meeting families prior to tracheostomy insertion and supporting
them through there inpatient journey, co-ordinating teaching and education
with ward staff to support successful discharge. Following discharge providing on-going
support, home visits telephone support and following up with specialist
nurses teams close to the family home.

The
post holder will work closely with the ENT and surgical teams, and will
become part of the Leeds Childrens hospital family, an exciting and dynamic
place to work. A background in
Childrens ENT, surgery or respiratory nursing would be advantageous however
support and induction will be provided by the existing tracheostomy nurse
specialist and medical team.
