Job summary
We
have an opportunity for a skilled, enthusiastic clinician who enjoys working
with children in an integrated multidisciplinary team. This post is to manage
our complex rehabilitation patients in our Childrens Outpatient Service
providing care for children with Chronic Pain, Musculoskeletal, Orthopaedic
and Rheumatological related conditions.The post holder will be involved in
the management of the outpatient department.
They
will work closely with the multidisciplinary team including medical staff,
nursing staff, occupational therapists, speech therapists, play therapists,
dieticians and psychologists. They will also liaise with other agencies that
support children and their families.
The
Childrens Physiotherapy Team is committed to the concepts of clinical
governance and staff development through appraisal, training, research and
audit.
The
post holder may be involved in research projects, and will be expected to
carry out service improvement and development, audits of their practice and
of the service.
The
post holder will contribute to the Paediatric Out of hours service.
This
post will be to work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
Main duties of the job
The
post holder will work as part of the childrens physiotherapy team providing highly
specialist care for children accessing the Orthopaedic, Pain and Rheumatology
service at The Leeds Childrens Hospital. They will provide leadership within
the childrens Outpatient teams demonstrating a high standard of leadership
skills and behaviours
Based
at the Leeds General Infirmary, the post holder will provide out-patient
assessment and management for children in Leeds and the Yorkshire region.
They will be a key member of the specialist Orthopaedic, Rheumatology and
Pain MDTs providing assessments and treatment , follow up care and telephone
liaison for this highly complex group of children, their carers and the
regional therapists working with them locally.
Key
relationships will be with other physiotherapists at both Leeds and the regional
hospitals including the paediatric physiotherapy team, nursing staff,
specialist nurses, medical staff, dietician, occupational therapist,
psychologist, speech and language therapist, play therapist, community
services, social services and education services.

childrens physiotherapy team is a team of approximately 40 physiotherapists
and physiotherapy assistants who work across Leeds Childrens Hospital. They
have a wide scope of experience and enjoy developing and teaching new members
of the team.

To
