(LCH). We are looking for 2.1 WTE Band 6 Paediatric SLTs who are dynamic & passionate
about delivering high level care in the area of acute paediatrics.
This post provides an excellent

& enhance your skills in the assessment & management of children with
complex feeding & communication difficulties in an acute setting. The role is
conducive to MDT working, supporting patients & families through their
hospital journey & we are seeking team members who are committed to

You will be supported by a well-established
& highly skilled SLT team with opportunities to develop your knowledge &
skills in acute sub-specialisms such as neonates, tracheostomy, Long Term
Ventilation, critical care & videofluoroscopy. Within the team there is a
structured induction programme & a well embedded supervision structure.
This is offered via regular individual / group supervision as well as ample
opportunities for joint working & shadowing both within the SLT team &
across other disciplines.
Main duties of the job
You will
manage a shared, clinical caseload working closely with and supported by,
highly specialist clinicians, families, Health/Social Care teams and regional
SLTs ensuring compliance against national clinical drivers. Applicants will
have excellent inter-personal communication, organisational and team working
skills and be able to show evidence of continued professional development

allow dedicated time for team members to come together, share learning &
discuss research & current practice.

2. JOB PURPOSE
To
perform communication and swallowing assessment on patients with diverse
presentations and complex neurological and psychological conditions, to
provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment
programme. Provide equitable, evidence based input at the appropriate points
along the care pathway ensuring all patients have opportunity to maximise
their swallowing and communication function. To work across a range of
clinical settings. To be responsible for their own continuing professional
and personal development.
3. JOB DIMENSIONS
To
hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area
of the service or a particular patient type, working without direct
supervision. Access to advice and
support from a senior Speech and Language Therapist is available if required,
clinical work is not routinely evaluated. To undertake all aspects of
clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner within this specialist field
