has a long history of supporting and training international nurses and
midwives wishing to practice in the UK. In 2022 Leeds Teaching Hospitals
Trust launched an NMC Examination Centre in the heart of the city, providing
Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE).
We
are looking to appoint a motivated, knowledgeable, and well-organised
individual, with significant post registration experience.
The
Lead Examiner plays a role in daily management and ensuring high standards
are maintained within the service by prioritising the smooth running of the
assessments taking place, problem solving and escalating risks accordingly.
The
post holder will provide line management responsibility to a team of
Assessors within the Centre with the service running over 7 days.
You
will be an NMC registrant and have experience in, the assessment of clinical
skills, excellent communication skills and a high level of accuracy and
attention to detail. You will work as part of a team and demonstrate
effective leadership. You will work in a flexible environment and meet the
demands of a busy service.
Support
will be provided for continuous professional development.

Main duties of the job
As
a Lead Examiner you will oversee all examination conducted and review
examinations to ensure consistency in line with the Nursing Midwifery Council
and all other associated registering bodies. The job holder will enable the
development of clinical examiners, mentors, assessors and key trainers,
providing supervision through on-site support and Trust wide continuous
professional development activities. The post holder will be responsible for
leading clinical education and associated resources in their designated
clinical areas. The successful candidate will provide a high standard of
education. The post holder will work mainly with all hospital trusts in the
United Kingdom International Nurse Recruitment Projects. The focus will be to
be a liaison link in providing in-depth advice on NMC OSCE exam process,
communicating/ attending meetings with organisations with up to date changes
in conditions for examinations and requirements.

in all specialities to keep practice up to date and recruit further experts
as and when required. And implement interventions for improvement. They will
enhance the quality of care delivery from both the registered and
unregistered workforce.
The
job holder will support, educate, develop and assess/ examine registered and
unregistered staff in their clinical role and competency, to meet the
standards required to deliver high quality evidence based care for service
users. To carry out support activities, including skills administration,
marking and moderation, skills curriculum development and the development of
skills packages including where appropriate use of technology. The post
holder may be line managing a junior clinical educator depending on the
clinical service unit.

Manager in relation to all clinical and academic matters, including Appeals,
Complaints, and the management of Test Centre results. They will identify and
celebrate good practice and share with local and Trust teams. The post holder
will lead by example; will be responsible for disseminating good practice and
