Job summary

We are recruiting a Junior Sister/Charge Nurse to be part of a highly supportive team that strives for excellence.

We are proud to be the only Level 2A UKROC Rehabilitation Unit in the Yorkshire and Humber- delivering specialist nursing care to the most complex patients in the region, and benefiting from enhanced staffing levels to deliver this.

Main duties of the job

The jobholder will play an essential role assisting the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse with the 24-hour continuing responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the ward / department. They will contribute to the provision of professional, clinical, managerial leadership and supervision for the nursing team. The jobholder is responsible for helping to develop and maintain a ward or departments philosophy that has the patient at the centre of compassionate safe and quality care delivery.

The jobholder will act as a role model, promoting quality evidence-based practice, developing the nursing team and ensuring effective management of the ward/department in the absence of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse

About us

C1 is a mixed sex 25 bed National Centre for Neurological and complex Rehabilitation. We work closely as a Multi-Disciplinary Team with patients following Acquired Brain Injury, and a variety of Neurological conditions. We are an extremely friendly team, and work with patients and their families to achieve individualised rehab goals and this is therefore a very rewarding role.

  • Registered Nurse (RN Adult for adult clinical areas or RN Child for childrens areas (Level 1 or 2)
  • Recognised teaching/assessing qualification, or willing to undertake
  • Evidence of continued professional development

Desirable

  • Understanding of training needs in relation to post

Experience

Essential

  • Significant post registration experience at staff nurse level or equivalent
  • Working with a wide range of professionals including medical, nursing and management colleagues
  • Audit and standard setting
  • Local and national nursing agenda.

Desirable

  • Change management/improvement projects.
  • Clinical Experience within the specialty.
  • Awareness of Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust guidelines and policies
