We are seeking a highly motivated, forward thinking Band 7 Student Training Lead Dietitian to join our dynamic Dietetic Service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This senior role provides strategic and operational leadership for apprentice programs and dietetic placements across the Trust, ensuring a supportive learning environment, and excellent learning experience.You will play a key role in shaping the future dietetic workforce by leading placement quality initiatives, coordinating safe and inclusive learning environments, supervising and assessing learners, and acting as the central point of expertise for dietetic apprentice and student education within the service.This post is ideal for an experienced clinician with a strong interest in education, quality improvement, and workforce development.We are a supportive, forward thinking department committed to high quality patient care and education and provide opportunities for leadership development, CPD opportunities and flexible working to support staff wellbeing
Main duties of the job
As the Band 7 Student Lead Dietitian, you will:
Leadership
Coordinate delivery of all dietetic placements (A, B, and C).
Oversee placement capacity planning, ensuring inclusive and
high-quality learning environments.
Work collaboratively with HEIs and the dietetic workforce to
maintain alignment with curriculum requirements.
Quality, Governance & Service Improvement
Lead on placement quality assurance and audits.
Implement service-wide improvements informed by continual
evaluation.
Ensure placement delivery meets national standards and HCPC
requirements.
Support & Development
Supervise and assess learners on placement and support others to
do the same.
Design and deliver training sessions, CPD opportunities, and
educational resources for the dietetic team.
Offer pastoral support to learners and be a senior point of
escalation for concerns or wellbeing needs.
Strategic Contributions
Lead or support development projects within the Dietetic Service
Contribute to Trust-wide AHP education initiatives.
