We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Psychologist to join the Neuropsychological evaluation and rehabilitation in multiple sclerosis (NEuRoMS) project (www.neuroms.org). This is an NIHR-funded project that aims to develop and evaluate a cognitive screening pathway for people with multiple sclerosis (MS), and a neuropsychological rehabilitation programme for people with MS with mild or moderate cognitive problems. The successful candidate will be based at St James University Hospital, and Leeds General Infirmary, and will join an established multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and clinical researchers.

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to gain experience in clinical research while also delivering clinical services as part of the project. The post holder will join a multi-disciplinary MS team and be responsible for supporting people with MS to complete cognitive screening, either online or on a tablet, and producing reports. They will also deliver a manualised cognitive rehabilitation intervention for people with MS with mild or moderate cognitive problems. The rehabilitation will be provided face-to-face, over MS Teams/Zoom or telephone. Additionally, the post holder will collect data from the screening and rehabilitation sessions, complete data entry, and maintain clinical notes.

Main duties of the job

The main duty of this role will be to have specific responsibility for delivering cognitive screening and cognitive rehabilitation to people with multiple sclerosis and for delivering the research objectives, as part of the Neuropsychological evaluation and rehabilitation in multiple sclerosis (NEuRoMS) project. The post holder will also need to complete research-related activities as part of this role.

The successful candidates will be based between our large Department of Clinical and Health Psychology within Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust, and the Multiple sclerosis Multi-Disciplinary Team.
