Due to retirement of the current post holder and review of current management portfolios a rare and exciting opportunity for a Clinical Dietetic Manager has become available at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT). Our large friendly department consists of 4 adult teams and 1 childrens team which include many regional specialist services. Our department employs Dietetic Assistants, Dietetic Associate Practitioners, Apprentice Dietitians, Dietitians, an Enteral Feeding Associate Practitioner and Enteral Feeding Nurse Specialists. We are part of the Adult Therapies Clinical Service Unit where our vision is to empower staff to provide the best care for our patients; body, mind and soul.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide operational management, leadership and support to a team of staff based at Leeds General Infirmary and Chapel Allerton Hospital including leading on relevant strategic development, operational policy and clinical pathways. Clinical specialities include neurosurgery and trauma related services, stroke and neurology as well as complex and stroke rehabilitation. You will support our dietitians delivering nutrition education across LTHT as well as the catering dietitian. Leading adult oral and enteral nutrition across LTHT you will have a pivotal strategic role in developing Trust guidelines, risk management and operational support across the Nutrition and Dietetic department working with community partners to review pathways of care. We are on a mission for outstanding Nutrition and Hydration Care at LTHT; Nutrition Mission will be launched November 2023 which you will significantly contribute to in your role ensuring the best care for our patients.
You will support the Nutrition and Dietetic Department to provide regular professional development events, and training to A, B and C placement students. You will be actively involved in the development, implementation and audit of patient care practices as part of Clinical Governance.
