Nurse Specialist - Hepatology

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 CNS to join the Hepatology service working in the dedicated autoimmune liver disease team based at St Jamess Hospital in Leeds.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, dedicated and caring nurse. Experience in autoimmune liver disease is not essential as support, guidance and training will be given from the Band 7 CNS and the team of Hepatology consultants

The role involves managing patients with all aspects of autoimmune liver disease including, Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC), Autoimmune Hepatitis (AIH) and Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC).

There will be ample opportunity for learning new skills such as clinical assessment, planning treatment as well as managing the day to day running of outpatient clinics and dealing with telephone consultations, emails and queries.

The CNS role also includes patient education and monitoring for autoimmune patients starting new medication and liaising closely with Primary Care and referring centres.

We are a small friendly team and welcome a driven individual to join us with new ideas to improve patient pathways and drive forward the expansion of this nurse led service whilst becoming highly specialised in this dynamic and exciting field of Hepatology
