An
exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated
individual as a Resuscitation Officer, to join a dedicated team within Adult
Resuscitation Services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. There is
availability for an individual looking for 37.5 hours as a secondment/fixed
term for 12 months.
The
post holder will support the Adult Resuscitation Officers in the delivery of
in hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation skills
training of multidisciplinary Trust staff in the emergency medical management
of acutely ill adults. As such you will be expected to possess a recognised
teaching qualification.

Main duties of the job
The
post holder will support the Resuscitation Officers in the statutory
mandatory resuscitation training, and education around the deteriorating
patient for all clinical staff employed by the Trust across all Adult areas.
This may also involve supporting staff within the ward environment. The post
holder will assist with auditing of adult medical emergency/cardiac arrest
procedures; including equipment within clinical areas and cardiac arrest
bleep testing. The post holder will be involved with implementation of any
resuscitation equipment changes required for the Resuscitation Trollies and
maintain familiarity with all equipment. They will also be required to carry
the crash bleep and respond to 2222 calls as situation arise.

ensuring the equipment is appropriately stocked, checked and available for
use.
Contribute
to the implementation of resuscitation and deteriorating patient policy
throughout the Trust and recognise potential areas for service improvement
which may involve suggestions received from staff that should be promptly
referred to the Resuscitation Officers.
