Senior Project Nurse/Midwife/Allied Health Professional Band 7
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Adult Critical Care Outreach Team as a Senior Project Nurse at Leeds. You will be responsible for supporting quality improvement for the deteriorating patient agenda. The immediate focus of the successful candidate will be towards improvements with Sepsis and AKI management.
You will be an experienced nurse, with in-depth knowledge of caring for acutely ill and deteriorating patients, an expert in sepsis recognition and treatment, educated to post-graduate degree level or have equivalent clinical experience. You will hold a recognised teaching qualification and have evidence of recent development relevant to deteriorating and septic patients; a project management/quality improvement qualification would be an advantage.
You will have the opportunity to further develop your knowledge and skills in the management of the acutely ill patient and, as leadership, education and audit are integral to this role, there are further opportunities to develop these skills. The successful candidate will work closely with Lead Clinician for sepsis, Infection Prevention, Critical Care Outreach, ICU/HDU and Resuscitation Services, with a chance to gain experience in quality improvement work with a Trust wide remit.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to work in the Critical Care Outreach Team to implement and/or facilitate a range of projects in the Trust, including leading and driving the safe staffing assurance and workforce transformation agendas.
The post holder will lead and drive the Sepsis agenda.
They will proactively
Plan, develop and enact the Sepsis Quality Improvement agenda
Lead and collaborate with Trust wide or CSU or professional specific projects and strategies.
Engaging with corporate and operational teams to support continual improvement
The post holder will participate in the planning and management of projects as required.
Provide feedback to relevant corporate and operational teams on progress and issues relating to clinical practice on wards and clinical areas.
Lead on nursing, midwifery and AHP policy development relating to local and national objectives.
