Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity within the Leeds Dental Institute for positive and enthusiastic people to join our existing Outpatient Administration team. You will be joining a friendly, supportive team of administration staff, secretaries, doctors and nurses.

We are looking for friendly, flexible, and self-motivated individuals who are able to work in a fast-paced environment. It would be an advantage if applicants possess supervisory skills, excellent communication and administrative skills and are able to work as part of a team, as well as using your own initiative and work to deadlines. The post holder will be required to manage and supervise members of the administrative team in accordance with Trust policies as well as provide any training and support development.

The ideal candidate will have experience with dealing with members of the public in a healthcare environment and have resilience, empathy and organisation skills. Having worked in a patient administration area with the Patient Administration System would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be provided with an induction and training schedule and will have opportunities for professional development whilst in the role in a supportive environment.

Main duties of the job

To supervise, train and develop administration staff within the Leeds Dental Institute Ensure booking of patients is administered effectively and to the benefit of the patients.

Ensure that all new patients, and follow up appointments are booked within Trust target times.

Day to day management of administration staff including monitoring attendance.

Excellent customer skills being able to respond to telephone enquiries in a polite and helpful manner. Dealing with escalations and following the procedure if required.
