Job summary

The Patient Safety and Incident Facilitator will support the Patient Safety team in day to day management of incident reporting across the Organisation and the post holder will be responsible for providing effective administrative support; receiving, logging, escalating, disseminating and updating Central Alerting System (CAS) alerts, Field Safety Notices (FSN's) and external incident management.

Main duties of the job

You will provide day-to-day support for the Trust's electronic incident management system and assist the Patient Safety Leads in promoting a positive safety culture. Working closely with clinical and non-clinical teams, you will help ensure incidents are recorded, investigated, and learned from effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting staff with the use and maintenance of the electronic incident management system.
  • Assisting with CAS alerts, SIRMS and external incident coordination.
  • Providing advice and guidance on patient safety and incident reporting processes.
  • Preparing data for analysis and supporting project work to improve safety.
  • Offering administrative support, including meeting coordination and minute taking.
