Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join the senior ward 8 Cardiology team. Ward 8 is a 21 bedded cardiology unit with a high patient turnover. The unit cares for patients with a variety of cardiac conditions including the management of cardiac chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure.The successful post holder will work within the team to deliver high quality compassionate patient care supporting patients to meet their daily needs. Excellent people skills and a caring and positive attitude are required for this position. You will need to possess exceptional communication skills and have the ability to work under pressure as part of a multi-disciplinary cardiology team.This position requires a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who is eager to learn and develop within cardiology. Previous cardiology experience is desirable but not essential.Successful candidates will complete a period of supernumerary, a preceptorship course and be fully supported by a senior nursing team. Cardiology education and training will then begin once you have completed this period. Fantastic training opportunities are available both in house from the senior nursing and medical team and externally via local universities.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate would be expected to work as part of the team to deliver high standards of patient care responsive to patient's needs. There would be an expectation that you would be flexible and able to work to work a variety of shifts days, nights and weekends in order to accommodate the needs of the service.
The post holder will possess the ability to be able to work alone and with the wider supporting team, and work collaboratively with external agencies. You will be expected to demonstrate and role model the uppermost professional standards.
