Job summary

  • This post will oversee, manage, and advance the Trust's digital services, ensuring the delivery of secure, efficient, and high-quality information systems, digital infrastructure, and support services
  • This role will report directly to the Alliance Chief Digital Officer and requires the ability to effectively operate at an executive level. The post holder will represent the Trust in all matters concerning digital and data services at this level.
  • A key responsibility of the role is to develop the Trust's digital and data strategy and oversee its successful implementation. The post will have led on the design and delivery of comprehensive information technology and digital enabling services across the Trust, delivery of technology solutions including networks, communications, data centre, cloud services, service desk, cyber security and all devices used to access digital solutions at the Trust (excluding medical equipment).
  • The post holder will also lead the ongoing development of the digital patient record strategy and related systems in conjunction with health and care system partners. These ambitious programmes represent a Trust wide clinical and administrative transformation of all services; the post holder will work with senior clinicians and managers within the Trust, to ensure that the programmes are delivered within agreed timescales and ensures the continuation of safe, kind and effective services.

Main duties of the job

  1. Provide professional and technical leadership for digital services across the Trust.
  2. Offer professional guidance, support, digital risk management and strategic direction to the Trust,
  3. Develop and implement a digital and data strategy that aligns with the Trust's services, goals, and developments, ensuring cost-effectiveness while reflecting national and local priorities. This strategy will consider the Trust's role within the Alliance.
  4. Define and deliver priorities for the digital teams that align with the Trust's objectives and business plans, supported by a clear programme of work.
  5. Develop a digital patient record strategy and delivery plan that supports the Trust's objectives, enhances patient care, and considers the alliance position and systems around the patch.
  6. Provide specialist expert knowledge to the Trust Board, Chief Executive, Executive Directors, Non-Executive Directors, and the Senior Management Team.
  7. Ensure technology enhances the experiences of patients and clinicians, supports the delivery of safe, compassionate, and effective care, and improves the working lives of the Trust workforce and its partners.
  8. Oversee the digital functions to implement a comprehensive risk management approach, including the digital contribution to business continuity planning. This should include a robust cyber security plan.
  9. Lead business process modernisation through the effective and appropriate use of digital and data solutions.
