Job summary
Are you a talented, experienced registered nurse ready to progress into the next stage of their career? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic nurse to provide clinical leadership and service development support to our Discharge Lounge Team. A key part of this role is to lead on the recent developments both within the Discharge Lounge and across the trust in increasing patient activity through the Lounge, by promoting more timely discharge from hospital.
The Discharge Lounge operates 5 days per week, Monday to Friday between 8am-8pm and comprised both qualified and non-qualified staff. Our aim is to provide a comfortable, safe and efficient environment for our patients transferring from hospital to home, promoting, facilitating and assisting efficient hospital flow.
Main duties of the job
You should be able to demonstrate significant nursing experience, excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills to support and enable the nursing and wider multidisciplinary team to provide excellent standards of safe, effective and compassionate care.
You will also need to be flexible and have an innovative approach to service development. A teaching certificate and evidence of recent ongoing Professional Nursing development is also desirable.
You will be keen to develop your leadership and management skills and will be supported in the line management of the Discharge Lounge Team, further assisting your own ongoing development and progression. You will be able to multitask, and problem solve, continuously monitoring and prioritising your workload and that of others.
You will be a good team member, able to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and will possess excellent communication skills.
