An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced Registered Nurse to lead the established stoma care nursing team dedicated to providing high quality specialist nursing care in both the primary and secondary care setting. The successful applicant will need to meet the following criteria:
- 1st level registration
- A minimum of 2 years' experience at Band 6 or equivalent
- Broad knowledge, skills and experience in surgical nursing
- Excellent leadership, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently, managing a caseload of patients in both secondary and primary care setting
- Ability to work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team
- Specific interest in professional development and service improvement.
Main duties of the job
To lead and coordinate the delivery and development of the stoma care specialist nurse service through the use of effective evidence cased practiced in line with agreed national standards for patient safety and clinical practice
To provide clinical leadership, expertise and specialist clinical advice and support to clinical staff on the management and care of patients within the stoma care service and lead effective delivery of care to patients
To provide the highest standard of holistic care for patients through the utilisation of advanced clinical skills and advice in the assessment and management of patients in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to improve and maintain the quality and safety of patient care
To Lead on the delivery and development of the stoma care nursing service through the use of effective evidence based practice in line with agreed national standards for clinical practice
