Job summary
Gateshead NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a full time Audiologist at Band 5 level. This is a small but busy department with innovative ideas to improve the patient's experience. We are committed to providing the highest standard of hearing care to the local population offering one-stop assessment and fitting to the majority of our patients. We work closely with the ENT Department and offer a range of diagnostic services. We have an extensive Children's and Young Person's Audiology service providing diagnostic and rehabilitative care for patients from birth until they exit full time education.
The ideal person is someone who can work autonomously while being part of a multidisciplinary team. Your key area of performance would be the provision of high quality patient centred hearing assessment and rehabilitation packages to our adult service users. We offer a range of flexible working arrangements and you will participate in a roster that may include some weekend working.
Main duties of the job
The main aspect of this role will be the delivery of high quality hearing care to adult patients. This will involve diagnostic assessment and the development and implementation of individual care plans as well as ongoing care for our existing hearing aid users. The post holder may be required to provide audiology support to the ENT service.
This vacancy is part of our 'refer a friend' scheme, this means if a friend who currently works for us has told you about this vacancy you could both receive a cash payment. The full scheme details are included with the additional documents for this role.
