Job summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen within our Cardiac Diagnostic Department for the above post.

Applications are invited from patient focused individuals who would like the opportunity to work in a busy department performing highly specialist cardiac diagnostic investigations.

The successful applicant will possess highly specialized skills in Echocardiography and/or Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) and will be able to lead/manage an area within the department (depending on service requirements).

The successful applicant will have a minimum of two years' experience as a Band 6 Senior Cardiac Physiologist. You will be an independent practitioner in adult echocardiography and/or CRM. Experience of cardiac catheterization (diagnostic), permanent pacemaker implants, physiologist led Exercise tolerance tests and Holter analysis is essential.

BSc Healthcare Science or BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology level, or equivalent for this post is essential.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide/organize a service that carries out timely diagnostic investigations.
  • Responsibility for the day to day management of a section of the Cardiac Diagnostic Services department, ensuring provision of a quality service.
  • Train and support other staff.
