Following a recent re-structure, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join our newly developed Patient Flow Team as a Band 6 Clinical Flow Manager.
We are seeking to appoint experienced, enthusiastic and motivated nurses to join our team and support the management of appropriate patient flow through the hospital. You will assist with the optimisation of patient placement and work within the national Criteria to Reside guidelines, facilitating right care, at the right time, in the right place.
You will assist the team in ensuring all decisions regarding patient movement are clinically driven, therefore a solid nursing knowledge base is essential.
Whilst you will be a good team member, you will also need to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously. You will be able to multitask, and problem solve, continuously monitoring and prioritising your workload.
You will be keen to develop your leadership and management skills and will possess excellent communication skills, particularly when working under pressure.

Main duties of the job
The Patient Flow Team operates 24/7, 365 days a day. This is a senior clinical role that has responsibility for facilitating, enabling and supporting ward teams in their decision-making processes and patient pathways to achieve optimal patient experience and flow.
The post holder will assist the Clinical Lead Nurse in ensuring all Areas, Wards and Departments are working within the National OPEL framework and the Trusts GEL Policy, providing leadership and support to areas that require development.
This role involves working across the organisation, in collaboration with other teams, actively managing capacity and demand patterns to ensure an accurate bed position is maintained throughout the day and the appropriate placement of patients requiring admission through proactive management, good communication and strong leadership.
