An exciting opportunity has arisen in Critical Care for a 12 month secondment as a Band 6 deputy sister/ charge nurse to cover maternity leave

We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced Critical Care Nurse who is open to change and continually striving for excellence to join this leadership team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the ward managers in all aspects of leadership and management including supporting the critical care team to continually develop the service. You will also support the educational facilitator in staff development.

  • to co-ordinate, organise and support all staff within the department to provide high standard nursing care
  • to facilitate admissions and discharges
  • to share knowledge and skills with colleagues
  • internal rotation to day and night duties

Based in the North East of England we provide a range of hospital and community health services from our leading facilities, including the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Blaydon urgent care centre and Bensham Hospital, all within Gateshead.

  • Degree in Nursing
  • Be in possession of critical care competencies one, two & three (or working towards)
