Job summary

The post holder will assist the Trust to provide high quality practice placements to meet the requirements of all AHP students on NHS and HEFCE funded Healthcare training programmes.

They will also support the Lead Nurse for Practice Education and in partnership with the Lead AHP for the Trust in directing the strategic professional and clinical development of AHP practice and innovation to improve the patient experience and clinical outcomes, working to the HCPC, relevant professional & regulatory bodies and Trust guidelines to provide, promote and develop high quality evidence based, patient focused professional practice.

Main duties of the job

In collaboration with education providers, assist in the management of the portfolio of AHP student placements within the TrustTo expand practice placement opportunities as necessary across a broad range of disciplines/professional areas in conjunction with the CCG and partner educational institutions.Work in collaboration with other Trusts to maintain the entire portfolio of Practice Placements for NHS / Further education commissioned courses.To contribute to ensuring the quality of existing placements by identifying areas of good practice and establishing the professional development needs of mentors.To provide support and guidance to mentors or equivalent and to students, particularly in relation to highlighting potential problems in placement areas.To support and facilitate the development of clinical practice placements by supporting clinical leadership across all of the AHP professions.To act as a resource to managers and clinical staff with regard to practice placement development and innovation at an operational level.
